Amazon has announced a refreshed version of its $50 Fire 7 tablet, which now comes with 16GB of internal storage for the lower-end model. Other specs are nearly identical to the previous model.

Amazon today announced a slightly updated Fire 7 tablet, and a $10 cheaper Fire HD 8. The Fire HD 8 now also comes with a Kids Edition, offering a two-year "worry less" guarantee.
Amazon has issued a voluntary recall of power adapters included with some of its Fire tablets in the UK and Ireland, as "the adapter assembly may detach and create a risk of electrical shock".
