The German state of Hesse wanted to replace Microsoft's Teams video conferencing software with one made by a local vendor. However, the court found the alternative solution to be rather inadequate.

Schleswig-Holstein, a German state, has announced that it's moving away from Microsoft Office to LibreOffice. This will be followed by a bigger move from Windows to open-source Linux by end of 2026.
After moving all its systems to LiMux (a portmanteau of Linux and München) back in 2009, the authorities are considering moving back to Windows based on recommendations from Accenture.
