Samsung and Qualcomm have successfully completed the validation of 8.5Gbps LPDDR5X. This means we should begin to see Snapdragon powered phones, among others, with the new superfast RAM soon.

The next-gen LPDDR standard dubbed LPDDR5X has been announced today by Samsung. It is the industry's first such solution and promises to deliver 64GB capacities at 8.5Gbps to low-power devices.
Samsung is going to deploy its LPDDR5 uMCP across mid to high-end smartphones this month. This will allow smartphone users to access 5G functionality enabled by LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 NAND storage.
Samsung has announced its new mobile device memory which offers a 1.5x speed improvement and also cuts power consumption by 30% to enable a longer battery life. The chip will be in future flagships.
