The disk bursting capability was first introduced last year, alongside new Azure disk variants. Today, all of the aforementioned are being made generally available, after a few months in preview.

The latest release of Azure Storage Explorer bumps the service to version 1.10.0. With this update, the option to easily backup and restore VMs using disk support is being offered.
