Nintendo today announced the lamentable delay of Metroid Prime 4, a long-awaited sequel to the franchise. The firm will be collaborating with Retro Studios for the game's development from now on.

Nintendo has announced that the long-anticipated remake of Metroid 2, titled Metroid: Samus Returns, will be released on September 15th, along with a new Metroid-themed limited edition 3DS XL.
In a surprise announcement, Nintendo unveiled a brand new Metroid Prime game at its E3 event. No gameplay or release date information was revealed, only that the game is titled, Metroid Prime 4.
