Not so long ago, Microsoft removed eye candy from its browser without any explanation. Now it appears the company is considering returning the Mica effect to Edge in a slightly better variant.
If you are a fan of the Mica effect on Windows 11 and wondered if you could some app based on that inside Windows 10, then such an app is available now for download on Microsoft Store.
The latest Microsoft Edge Canary has removed a flag responsible for making the browser prettier than the competition on Windows 11. You can no longer enable the Mica effect in Edge 111.0.1651.0.
After the recent update to Files App which introduced new Windows 11-styled rounded corners on certain Windows 10 elements, the app has now received another visual upgrade with new "fake mica" theme.
