Dennis Austin, together with Robert Gaskins, created the PowerPoint software for the company Forethought. It launched in April 1987. Microsoft bought the rights to the app just a few months later.

The new Aptos font is now rolling out to Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel apps as the new default font, which was designed to be used with higher resolution displays.
The new feature allows users to upload videos from their own computer to PowerPoint files on the web which can then be moved, resized, or include shape effects before they are saved.
