.NET 5, which is the predecessor to the newly launched .NET 6, will be reaching its end of support in six months' time as the previous .NET does not feature Microsoft's LTS support level.

Microsoft has reverted its change that led to the disablement of the Hot Reload feature on .NET 6 after an outcry from the developer community. The feature will now be there in .NET 6 GA version.
It's only been two weeks since the last update for the Windows App Studio replacement, and already a new version is available. This one features drag and drop source, Web to App Link, and bug fixes.
A new version of Windows Template Studio has now been released, and features lots of under the hood bug fixes and code improvements, it also adds a feedback hub. The update is available now.
Microsoft has rolled out version 1.2 of Windows Template Studio, a software that simplifies UWP app development, with focus on "high quality code generation for a strong starting point".
Microsoft's Soma Somasegar, the head of its Developer Division, said the company might offer the core of .NET as an open source project "if it's truly beneficial for us and for the community."
Microsoft announced during BUILD 2014 a new effort called the .NET Foundation which will offer a number of .NET programs as open source projects, including the new "Roslyn" complier.
