Having arrived three years ago as a souped-up revision to the original Nintendo 3DS, production of the New Nintendo 3DS has apparently come to an end according to Nintendo's Japanese website.

Nintendo's Scott Moffitt has recently revealed that the company's 3DS series "is here to stay" despite the move to mobile platforms, particularly because the 3DS has significantly outsold competitors.
