As promised a few weeks ago, HMD Global has begun rolling out the Android 10 update to its devices. The first phone to get the update is the Nokia 8.1, which was part of the beta program.

Nokia has announced the availability of Android Q Beta 5 for the Nokia 8.1. It includes a new shortcut to invoke Google Assistant and includes all the latest Android security patches from July.
HMD Global is rumored to be introducing a 6GB RAM variant of the Nokia 8.1 in late January or early February in India. The device was initially announced in December 2018 with only 4GB of RAM.
HMD Global used its Dubai event earlier today to announce the Nokia 8.1, which is being advertised as a successor to the Nokia 7 Plus rather than the Nokia 8. The phone will cost €399 in Europe.
With its global event in Dubai just one week away, details have popped up for a smartphone referred to as Phoenix. This seems to be the Nokia 8.1, sporting a Snapdragon 710 chipset.
A refresh of the Nokia 8 has been spotted on Geekbench. Curiously, the processor powering the phone seems to be a Snapdragon 710, a downgrade compared to the flagship-class Snapdragon 845 of the 8.
