The "dark" protest of many subreddits to protest Reddit's upcoming API price hikes is still going for some forums after the previously planned 48-hour protest time period expired on Tuesday.

Reddit CEO sent an internal memo earlier today addressing the ongoing blackout to protest the recent changes in API pricing that could cost third-party developers millions of dollars each month.
Some Reddit users have been unable to load the online forums, on the same day that thousands of popular subreddits went "dark" and will continue to do so through Tuesday, June 13.
The popular community subreddits for Windows, Windows 10, Windows 11, and many more will be going "dark" for at least 48 hours starting on Monday, June 11 to protest Reddit's API price hikes.
In a Reddit AMA, the online forum's CEO Steve Huffman stated that its API price changes are needed because it can "no longer subsidize commercial entities that require large-scale data use."
Christian Selig, the creator of the Apollo app for Reddit, stated he will be closing the app due to Reddit's upcoming API rate hikes, which he says would have cost him $20 million a year.
Reddit says that developers who make non-commercial accessibility apps that make use of the online forum's API services will now get "exemptions from our large-scale pricing terms."
