Xiaomi has just unveiled the latest additions to its entry-level Redmi series with the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A smartphones featuring AI cameras and starting at a price of RMB 599 or $94 in China.

After its unveiling in China in December last year, Xiaomi has now made its Redmi 5 smartphone available in India. It complements its beefier sibling, the Redmi 5 Plus, which was released last month.
Xiaomi held a big event in India, where it announced the latest Redmi Note smartphones and launched the Mi TV for the first time in a market outside of China for an impressive price.
An upcoming update for Xiaomi's MIUI 9 Android ROM will introduce iPhone X-style gestures for navigating the operating system on devices such as the Mi MIX, Mi MIX 2, Redmi 5, and Redmi 5 Plus.
Due to the recent launch of the Redmi 5 Plus smartphone, Xiaomi might not launch the Redmi Note 5, a device which is generally seen as the larger counterpart of the regular lineup.
Xiaomi has released a lot of handsets through out the year. While we are in the final weeks of 2017, the firm has now made its Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus official, going on sale on December 12.
Xiaomi is expected to launch the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphones in Beijing on Thursday, but the company's global spokesperson has taken no time to show off renders of the device on Twitter.
