Back at its RTX 40-series launch, Nvidia unveiled a duo of RTX 4080s, the 16GB and the 12GB models. Due to backlash, the company unlaunched the latter and it's allegedly re-launching as the 4070 Ti.

NVIDIA threw somewhat of a curveball on Friday, telling fans it now plans to unlaunch the RTX 4080 12GB edition, because of confusing naming, but this left manufacturers with useless packaging.
Nvidia it seems has finally realized that naming different specced products with the same name is misleading to consumers. As such the company has announced that it is "unlaunching" its RTX 4080 12GB.
Nvidia has shared performance figures for its new RTX 4090, RTX 4080 16GB and 12GB SKUs in Blizzard's Overwatch 2. The company claims one can get over 500 fps in the new title using the RTX 4090.
