Samsung has denied claims it will spin off its foundry business as a separate entity amid increasing competition and consecutive financial losses.

TSMC, the world's leading foundry, is planning to charge up to 30% more for chips made in the U.S. than those made in Taiwan due to higher building costs of fabrications outside of Taiwan.

Samsung Foundry and Arm are expanding their partnership by producing Arm Cortex-A76 CPUs that posses 3GHz+ computing power and are based on the 7/5-nm FinFET process. The CPUs will be ready in 2019.
