Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) in the Microsoft Store has ditched the "Preview" tag and is now generally available for both Windows 10 and Windows 11. It has also become the default WSL experience.

This week's edition of Microsoft Weekly is quite eventful due to the arrival of the Windows 11 2022 Update, a bunch of Insider builds, an upcoming Surface event, and allegations from Mozilla.
Microsoft and Canonical have been working together to add systemd support to WSL. This will enable several applications to run on WSL instances including snap, microk8s, and systemctl.
With Systemd version 251, the role of Package Manager could radically shift, reducing the flexibility it offered to users and allowing more control in the hands of Linux distro makers.
Devuan 1.0 Jessie has been released. It is now considered stable and can installed as an upgrade to existing Debian 7 and 8 installations. The distribution split from Debian over an init controversy.
