Microsoft has announced that the new AI-based custom background generation feature for video meetings that launched as a public preview in Microsoft Teams is now generally available for Premium users.

Microsoft currently has plans to add a way for Teams users to create custom backgrounds for channel announcements. Premium members will get access to DALL-E generative AI features for backgrounds.
The new feature in Microsoft Teams will let meetings users pick from a variety of backgrounds with dynamic animations. However, the feature won't work with PCs with less than 8GB of RAM.
The collection of new Microsoft Teams virtual backgrounds is the biggest update for this feature since it was added in 2020, and they are separated into six different categories for users.
