New documentation provided by Apple to its Authorized Service Providers indicate that the company now requires the use of proprietary diagnostics software in order to complete repairs on some Macs.

Google has now started accepting mail-in repairs for its Pixel smartphones. Although Google will be handling the processing, it looks like the actual repairs will be handled by third-parties.
