It has been rumored that YouTube is looking to launch a new music streaming service sometime next year. The firm has completed new deals with two major labels and can now proceed as planned.

Grooveshark has ceased operations to avoid paying up to $736m in damages to music labels for copyright violations, posting an apology on its site for 'failing to secure licenses from rights holders'.
