Some weird issue in Windows 11 could be leading to a lot of performance loss without the user even noticing it.
During the revelation of Intel's 12th Gen CPUs, Microsoft claimed that users would see the true benefit of the hybrid CPUs on Windows 11. However, the kernel has revealed why that hasn't happened.
We decided to install the latest version of Windows 10 22H2 on our 14th gen Intel i9-14900K system and then pitch it against an in-place Windows 11 (also 22H2) upgrade in a series of benchmarks.
Despite Windows 11 optimization, it was recently found that Intel's newer 13th Gen is less snappy than the 10th Gen. Interestingly, AMD's modern Ryzen 7000 is not exhibiting this to such a degree.
Microsoft and Intel worked together to optimize Windows 11 for the latter's hybrid CPU design. Testing however suggests that Windows 10 may indeed be a bit snappier overall than Windows 11.
Intel's hybrid CPUs are apparently struggling with latency issues as they can often be sluggish despite being much faster on paper than older CPUs like 10th or 11th gen, according to a report.
Just like a year ago, the latest Windows 11 22H2 vs Windows 10 22H2 tests also show negligible differences between the two latest OS. Even if there's a gap, it is within single digit percentages.
Latest testing by Puget Systems shows that Windows 11 is now able to keep up with Windows 10 in terms of hardware performance, thanks to notable improvements that have been made to the OS.
Windows 10 vs Windows 11 performance, including gaming, is still a hot topic. Testing shows that the performance difference between the two OSs on Nvidia GPUs is much more than on AMD's.
