Microsoft has stopped selling Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 licenses to OEMs for new PCs, as of today. Customers will no longer be able to purchase new PCs that run the operating systems out of the box.

Microsoft has now confirmed that sales of new PCs with Windows 7 Home Basic, Premium and Ultimate pre-installed will end October 31. Sales of Windows 7 Pro PCs still don't have a deadline.
