Microsoft announced today that it is planning to end its Xbox Fitness service. Content will no longer be available to purchase as of today, but existing content will be available for one year.

A number of different Xbox services are down, including Xbox Fitness and Call of Duty for Xbox 360. There are no details on exactly what is happening, but Microsoft appears aware of the issues.
The fitness app that showcased the new Kinect's capabilities on Xbox One will remain free going into next year. Microsoft had originally intended to launch a separate subscription for the app.
Microsoft may expand the Xbox Fitness service that's currently found on the Xbox One console to other platforms. Nearly 1.5 million virtual workouts have been run since it launched in November.
