Almost seven months after Google originally released Android 7.1.1 Nougat, Sony has finally begun to roll it out to the Xperia Z5 family, Z4 Tablet, and Z3 Plus, including the latest security patches.

Sony has officially launched its Android 7.0 upgrade program, publishing details of what to expect, along with a complete list of all of the devices that will be eligible for its Nougat update.
Sony has announced availability of Android 6.0 for the Xperia Z5 series in its home market of Japan, and its Marshmallow rollout will continue next week in the UK for the Z5 and other Xperia devices.
The Xperia Z5, priced at $599.99, has a 5.2" 1080p display and 3GB RAM, while the Z5 Compact gets a 4.6" 720p screen and 2GB RAM for $499.99 - but these US models don't have fingerprint sensors.
Sony has dropped quite the bombshell for those in the United States, by clarifying that the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact sold in the US will not offer a fingerprint sensor.
