Following 3D Realms' announcement that Prey is back in development, Take Two has confirmed that it will publish the first-person PC shooter later this year. Speaking to Eurogamer, the publisher verified rumours that the Prey will use the Doom 3 engine. It also reaffirmed an earlier statement by 3DR bigwig George Broussard on the developer's message boards that the game is being developed by Human Head Studios, a subsidiary of 3DR.
Human Head's previous titles include Rune and Dead Man's Hand. Prey was first announced back in 1997, but was later cancelled so the development team could concentrate on finishing other projects. The game was to follow the adventures of a Native American warrior called Talon Brave as he battled it out against a load of alien races, and Take Two told us the storyline has not changed.
