When Microsoft first launched the Surface Laptop, the only one that was available in all four colors was the model with a Core i5, 8GB RAM, and 256GB of storage. The other configurations were only available in Platinum.
In July, we discovered a listing for the Core i7 model with 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage in the other three colors, listed as coming soon. Some of those were briefly available for pre-order a couple of weeks ago, and then quickly removed.
Now, Microsoft has finally opened up pre-orders for the colored variants of the Surface Laptop, and there's a bonus: It turns out that these are also available with a Core i7, 8GB RAM, and 256GB of storage. These variants were not listed previously.
Another unexpected twist is that these new models of the laptop are available in multiple regions, whereas they were previously thought to be exclusive to the United States. Pricing for the new colors is the same as it was for the Platinum model, which is $1,599 and $2,199 in the United States, and £1,549 and £2,149 in the United Kingdom.
According to the Microsoft Store, the devices will be released on October 30 in the UK, and October 31 in the United States. UK customers can pre-order one here, and U.S. buyers can find it here.
