French developer Arkane Studios this week posted a job wanted ad for its new PC first-person shooter, The Crossing, and perhaps unwittingly unveiled its plans for an Xbox 360 version in the process.
Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah developer Arcane Studios has not formally announced the Xbox 360 version, through the ad speaks for itself.
"After developing Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and Arx Fatalis, Arkane Studios wants to grow with talented developers who share the same passion and dedication to games. If you want to work on 'The Crossing,' our remarkably innovative 'crossplayer' FPS for PC and Xbox360, and you think you can make a difference, you could have a place at Arkane. Job description: As an Xbox360 programmer in Arkane Studios, you will handle porting, maintaining, and optimizing the codebase for the Xbox 360 version of the game, developed on the Valve's Source Engine."
The PC title doesn't even have an official publisher yet. And a phone call to Microsoft produced the standard "Microsoft does not comment on rumors or speculation" response. French publisher Ubisoft, which published Arkane's last game, Dark Messiah, also would not comment on a potential publisher for The Crossing.
