While The Division 2 was confirmed to be in development by Ubisoft back in March, as promised, the original RPG is still receiving updates. Massive Entertainment pushed out the Division 1.8.1 update today for all platforms, however, it contained some special additions for Xbox One X owners.
The Division is the latest game to get Xbox One X enhancements, and following the update, the console now renders the title in 4K resolution. Anisotropy has also been bumped up, and players can expect to see better reflections, object details, as well as screen-space shadows.
In addition to the Xbox One X specific upgrades, the update brings along two new global events, Blackout and Onslaught, with more than 40 new Commendations to unlock, as well as legendary difficulty options for the Amherst’s Apartment and Grand Central Station missions.
There is also a great number of changes to gameplay such as increased Division Tech rewards and vendor reworks, along with an even greater number of bug fixes which include fixing a weird door in the Underground. The full patch notes can be found on the official Ubisoft forums here.
The 1.8.1 update is now available to download on all platforms and weighs in around 4-5GB. Meanwhile, those waiting for more information on The Division 2 will have to wait until E3 2018, which is when Ubisoft is planning to fully unveil the sequel.
