HP Elite x3 owners in the UK have reported that the device has received its first OTA firmware update this weekend. Although there is no changelog currently available, following a quick search, multiple websites have said that the update did not bring any new features to HP's flagship Windows 10 handset, which received support for the Windows Device Recovery Tool on Friday.
The firmware itself was bumped to version 0001.0000.0006.0243, and it's likely that the update will be required to receive the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update, which will begin rolling out for the device sometime in the middle of September. Although VAIO stopped rolling out the Anniversary Update for the Phone Biz due to issues with Continuum, it's unclear if HP chose to delay updating the Elite x3 for the same reason.
The HP Elite x3 isn't available everywhere yet, but it has gone on sale in the UK for £706.80, that price includes not just the Elite x3 itself, but also the Desk Dock accessory - which began shipping at the start of September - allowing owners to use a mouse and keyboard with the phone when connected to a larger display. In the US, the HP Elite x3 began shipping at the end of August for $699, or $799 with the inclusion of the Desk Dock accessory.
