The King of Fighters has somewhat slowed down in terms of its update cadence with only two installments released in the last eight years, with The King of Fighters XIV being the most recent in 2014. However, interest in the series has been somewhat sustained by the release of previous versions on various platforms, including the Xbox One. In February last year, KOF 2002 Unlimited Match made its appearance in the Xbox One Backward Compatibility list while the original KOF '94 made its debut on the console the following month.
Now, The King of Fighters '99 has made its way on to the Xbox One. Having made its first console appearance on the Neo Geo nearly two decades ago after its arcade release, the title has been ported to a variety of platforms, including Nintendo Switch last year. Featuring both local multiplayer and co-operative modes for two players, the game also includes additional settings to "reproduce the atmosphere of arcade display settings at that time."
If you're interested in reliving this 90s SNK classic on Xbox One, you can purchase KOF '99 for $7.99 from the Microsoft Store.
