Microsoft's Lumia 640 proved itself to be a hugely capable handset when we reviewed it earlier this year, thanks to its beautiful high-def display, impressive performance, and capable camera. It's already a bit of a bargain at its current US price of just $59.99 off-contract - but later this month, you'll be able to buy it for half that amount.
As OneTechStop.net reports, Best Buy will be offering the Lumia 640 for just $29.99 with no-contract (albeit locked to AT&T), as part of its Black Friday promotions. That's an astonishingly low price for a device that includes these key specs:
- 5-inch ClearBlack IPS LCD with HD (1280x720px) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3
- Quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB onboard storage (plus microSD support up to 128GB)
- Backside illuminated 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording
- 0.9MP front-facing camera with wide-angle lens and 720p video
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
- Bluetooth 4.0
- NFC
- Ambient light sensor, accelerometer, proximity sensor, magnetometer and SensorCore
- Replaceable 2500mAh battery
- 141.3 x 72.2 x 8.8mm; 145g
- Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2
That $29.99 price tag will only be available on the Lumia 640 from November 26 to 28 - although at that price, there's a good chance it may sell out before the three-day promotional period ends.
And by the way, if you needed a further incentive to buy the 640, Microsoft has also said that it will be one of the first devices to be upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile.
