They say that imitation is the best form of flattery. If Lenovo's latest product is anything to go by, Lenovo wants to drown the Surface team in a two-in-one shaped puddle of flattery, because the Miix 700 doesn't just look like a Surface Pro, it is a Surface Pro.
Powered by a Core M7 Skylake processor and 8 GB of RAM, with 256 GB of internal storage, the Miix 700 is pretty much what you'd expect from a premium Windows 10 two-in-one released in 2015. What will catch your eye, however, are the more than obvious similarities between this and Microsoft's Surface line, from the magnetic keyboard cover to the stylus. There's also a hinged kickstand at the back of the device - just like the Surface. It extends to about 160 degrees and features a "watchband" design that Lenovo first introduced with the Yoga Pro 3, its other - and utterly famous - two-in-one.
The device also features a stunning 1440p screen on a 12-inch display. Weighing in at about 1.7 pounds with the keyboard and featuring 5 MP rear and front cameras - upgradeable to Intel's RealSense tracking technology - the tablet/laptop is a sight to behold. It's also slightly cheaper than the Surface Pro 3, starting at $699, but the choice of a weaker processor, compared to the Surface Pro 3, balances things out.
