Gigabyte has quietly released its latest AORUS Gaming Box 2021 model, which comes powered by Nvidia's recently launched GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 12GB graphics card. In fact, the variant in question here is a water-cooled WATERFORCE model. For those who don't know, the AORUS Gaming Box is an external GPU solution.
The box measures 300mm long, 140mm broad, and 173mm high. It can be plugged in using the provided Thunderbolt 3 Type-C port. Power Delivery (PD) 3.0 is supported which can help in charging the laptop or other devices.
The water-cooled 3080 Ti inside clocks in at 1665MHz. In terms of video out, it has two HDMI ports and three DisplayPorts. The WATERFORCE 3080 Ti packs a 240mm black aluminum radiator which is cooled by dual 120mm fans. There is a large copper base plate that entirely covers the core of the GPU and its surroundings.
To power the RTX 3080 Ti as well as everything else inside it, the AORUS Gaming Box comes equipped with an 80+ gold-rated 550W power supply unit that claims to have >90% efficiency while delivering the necessary power via dual 8-pin power connectors.
For connectivity, the Gaming Box comes with an Ethernet port, although the bandwidth has not been specified. There are also three USB 3.0 ports present. Of course, a gaming product must have RGB and the AORUS Gaming Box is no different. The RGB lighting can be controlled and synchronized using the company's RGB Fusion 2.0 software.
