Today, Microsoft is releasing the October Xbox Update. Xbox consoles do get monthly feature updates, so there's never a whole lot that's new. There are a few things though.
First up is the new look and feel that was first tested with Insiders in August. Now, it's available for everyone, and not just on Xbox consoles. This new UX is meant to be consistent between console, mobile apps, and PC. Microsoft says that it's improved everything, including Home, Guide, My Games & Apps, and more.
Next up are profile themes. Microsoft says that this was a popular item with Xbox Insiders, and it's exactly what it sounds like. There are currently several themes that you can use, such as an Xbox Series X theme and some game themes from Xbox Game Studios, and there are more on the way. Themes also work on mobile and PC.
Microsoft is also adding new sign-in options. When you turn on your Xbox, you'll be prompted to choose an account to sign in with. Also, there will be the new Home experience waiting for them, where users will see their recently used list, allowing them to jump right into whatever they were doing before.
Finally, support is being added for four new languages, including Hungarian, Greek, Slovak, and Czech.
