In June, OnePlus unveiled its new flagship-class handset, making it available in various countries around the world. But among those markets in which the company hasn't yet released that device - or any of its other phones - is Australia.
That's all about to change, as OnePlus is heading Down Under, announcing its plans to launch in Australia in the next few weeks. "Later this month, we’re bringing the OnePlus 5 to Australia through a soft launch program," OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei said today. "The goal will be to test our product and supply chain, and we’ll be opening up a limited trial run for sales."
OnePlus hasn't yet announced pricing for the device in Australia, and it's not yet clear if both models - one with 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage; the other with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage - will be available there from day one.
Earlier this week, the company hinted at 'something new coming soon' related to the OnePlus 5, sparking speculation that it's preparing to release the handset in a new color. The device is currently offered in Slate Grey and Midnight Black - not the most varied of color palettes.
