Interested in grabbing a copy of the very first Fallout game ever developed, the game that kickstarted what is now one of the most acclaimed and most popular games in the RPG genre? Well, today may indeed be your lucky day.
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the launch of the game by Interplay Productions in 1997, a full 7 years before Bethesda acquired the rights to the franchise, Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game is now free on Steam. The offer is only valid for today, however, and will expire at midnight on Saturday, September 30. Oh, and make sure your computer is up to snuff with the latest hardware since the game's pixelated pleasures can only be had with a 90MHz Pentium CPU and a whopping 16MB of RAM.
Despite being 20 years old today, Fallout still holds a special place in many a gamer's hearts. It also holds a rather high rating on both Metacritic, with critics rating it a rather solid 89, and Steam where gamer reviews have been "very positive".
You can grab the game by simply going to the Steam page for Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game and pressing 'install game'.
