Almost four years after the original announcement of The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, developer Crows Crows Crows finally gave a firm launch date to the project today. This expanded and re-imagined version of the award-winning original game will land on April 27. Catch the brand-new trailer above.
The original creators of the narrative-driven title Davey Wreden and William Pugh are back for this new edition, which also brings the experience to consoles for the first time. The studio has said the script for the new content is longer than what was presented in the original.
"Early in development, the plan was just to bring The Stanley Parable to consoles with a few small tweaks, but as time went on we kept getting more and more excited about what else we could do with the game. We learned what we wanted it to be as we were making it," said the developer regarding the expanded scope. "Since The Stanley Parable was a game about surprises, we've tried to implement new content in ways that players won't be expecting."
The game follows the bizarre adventures of Stanley as he explores the mysterious and physics bending insides of his office space, all the while a narrator describes his every move. In addition to including all the content from the classic edition, the Ultra Deluxe edition adds on new choices, scenarios, and secrets to the labyrinth. Kevan Brighting has also been brought back to reprise his role as the narrator.
The studio also said it has made plenty of graphical improvements without losing the style of the original, and new accessibility options are incoming with this version as well.
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe comes out on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on April 27.
