Telltale Games' The Wolf Among Us 2 has gone through two reveal events, once in 2017 with the original Telltale, and again in 2019 under the newly revived Telltale crew. Now, the studio is finally ready to show off more of the game, with it delivering the first in-engine trailer for Season 2 today.
The sequel's storyline is set six months after the original game's finale, and Bigby Wolf is returning as the main protagonist alongside other faces like Snow White, who is now the Deputy Mayor of Fabletown. Bigby has been suspended from his old Sheriff of Fabletown job, and he has since taken a private investigator role.
Characters based on fairy tales and folklore make up the cast like the first game, and as the trailer reveals, familiar faces from Wizard of Oz will be present in the new storyline. A grown up Dorothy, The Scarecrow, The Tin Woodman, and The Cowardly Lion are all shown off here, though in the usual twisted Fables way.
The new game is being developed in Unreal Engine, ensuring better visuals and animations while also keeping to the original graphics style.
Unfortunately, fans will be waiting a little while longer to get their hands on the game. Telltale revealed a 2023 launch window for The Wolf Among Us 2, officially making the gap between the first game and the new release a decade long. Target platforms are PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
Telltale also revealed recently that it is working on a game based on The Expanse, with Camina Drummer coming in as the protagonist.
