GPD has been making gaming handhelds for quite some time but has mostly relied on Android as its OS of choice. But more recently, it has started dabbling into the world of Windows, and its GPD WIN was a culmination of its past products, all rolled into one device. The handheld was part gaming handheld, part productivity powerhouse, and it definitely managed to capture the attention of those in the Windows community. Now it looks like a successor could be on the horizon.
As you can see from the newly leaked photo, it looks like a revamped GPD WIN could eventually arrive to the market; the image is taken from a video that surfaced on YouTube recently, that goes over some of the physical details of the handheld gaming device. We can see from the image that some things have certainly changed, like the control sticks and button positions, along with raised accents on the W, A, S, D keys on the keyboard. The YouTuber also points out how the display could come in at six inches.
It will be interesting to see what kind of improvements GPD might make to better the experience over the first model; whether it would be bumping up to a better processor, adding more battery capacity, or improving the sound. Naturally, we will have to wait until an official announcement, but so far, things are looking promising.
