It has been close to a year since HMD Global introduced the world to the Nokia 6. The handset wasn't the most aggressive in terms of design or specifications, but it was priced right and was still quite popular. Today, the firm has announced the second generation Nokia 6 handset, one that maintains the overall design but does have some notable differences.
As far as the detailed specifications go, the Nokia 6 for 2018 will offer:
- 5.5-inch 1080p display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor
- 4GB RAM
- 32GB / 64GB internal storage with microSD expansion
- 16MP rear camera with 8MP front-facing camera
- 3000 mAh battery with USB Type-C
- 3.5mm headphone jack
Perhaps one of the more surprising elements is that it will be debuting with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, instead of Google's latest update, Android Oreo. Luckily, other specifications are far improved from the previous year's model. The handset will be available starting January 10 in two colors with a starting price of ¥1499 or around $231 USD. Those that are outside of Asia will have to wait a bit longer, as a global release has not been announced.
