The Apple Watch is without a doubt the most popular wearable to date. With a million sold via pre-orders, it looks like Apple will have another hit product on its hands for years to come. While future iterations of the device will no doubt have improved features, the battery life is a primary concern on current models as it can only last through a day. Luckily, wiPowerBand Inc. is aiming to improve the watches battery life with its newly unveiled wiPowerBand.
The wiPowerBand is made from a polymer with a soft silicone rubber skin. The band itself also houses a 250mAh battery that can be recharged via Lightning cable. The band provides extra power to the Apple Watch via its integrated inductive charging pad. While some might find this solution cumbersome, the band only measure in at 4mm thick and weighs only an additional 20 grams.
The wiPowerBand is available in two sizes, 38mm and 42mm, and is priced at $99 USD. The band is available in an assortment of colors. The rechargeable band is expected to ship starting in May/June of 2015.
