This week's new releases in games are, once again, a bit on the slow site with one major multi-platform game due out this week. However there are a few downloadable add-ons for PC owners planned for release that might be of interest.
Hunted The Demon's Forge - This week's big new game release is this fantasy themed action-RPG from developer inXile Entertainment and publisher Bethesda Softworks. This Unreal Engine 3-based game is coming for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms. It's designed for two player co-op modes (although you can play in single player with a AI buddy) as you fight your way though a number of different enemies. The game will also include a mission editor called Crucible that should be easy to use and will also allow players to upload their new missions for others to try out. Oh and Lucy Lawless, Xena herself, will be voicing one of the game's characters.
Also due for release this week for the PC is Call of Duty Black Ops Escalation. This $15 map pack for the hit first person shooter (first released for the Xbox 360 over a month ago) by developer Treyarch and publisher Activision will be released on June 2. It will add four multiplayer maps and a new zombie themed map that will have some celebrity actors offer up their likenesses and voices, including George Romero, the man who created the modern zombie movie.
PC owners can also check out The Sims 3 Generations, the latest commercial expansion pack for the people sim game from Electronic Arts. PC owners of BioShock 2 will finally be able to purchase and download Minerva's Den this week for $10. This single player DLC pack for the first person shooter finally ends the BioShock 2 storyline for PC gamers it was first released for PS3 and Xbox 360 owners several months ago). Finally Xbox 360 and PC owners of Section 8: Prejudice will be able to download a new map pack for the first person shooter on June 1.
