Nintendo's Switch is a fairly popular console, and so it's no surprise that fans have asked for many popular titles to be on the platform in the two and a half years it's been on the market. One of the games fans wanted to see on the hybrid was Overwatch, a request that was only partly addressed with last year's release of Paladins, a very similar free-to-play game.
Now, though, that could be changing pretty soon, if a listing on Amazon is to be believed. The listing, spotted by Twitter user Wario64, is for an Overwatch-branded Switch carrying case which is officially licensed by both Nintendo and Activision Blizzard. If that's not enough indication that the game may be coming to the hybrid soon, the listing has also been taken offline very quickly, suggesting it may have been an unintentional reveal. Activision Blizzard also recently set a precedent for bringing its games to the Switch with Diablo III.
According to users who saw the page before it was taken down, the case is set to launch on September 15, which indicates the game would release on or around that date. Nintendo typically hosts a Nintendo Direct presentation around that time, and those events also tend to include surprise releases, so we could be seeing Overwatch launch immediately after the Direct.
Of course, Overwatch has been around for a few years now, and much of the hype around it has died down. However, there may still be a fairly big community interested in playing the game on the go. If you're part of that group, you'll need to wait for further confirmation from Nintendo or Activision to be sure if and when the game is coming to the Switch.
