Last week, Microsoft gave the public a chance to pick from four different Windows Phone 8 TV commercials featuring NFL quarterback Cam Newton and vote for which one should be shown on TV during the pre-game coverage of the NFL AFC Championship game on Sunday.
Today, Microsoft said that the votes are in and the original "Pound Cake, French Fries" ad was the top promotion, despite a push by a large group to have the alternate "Peanut Butter, Jelly" version win.
As it turns out, Microsoft decided to give people both their pound cake and their peanut butter, too. The Windows Phone blog stated that the "Peanut Butter, Jelly" version will air during the actual AFC playoff game on NBC, as well as the NFC Championship game on CBS.
Both playoff games should have a lot of eyeballs as the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots fight on the field for the AFC crown while the San Fransisco 49ers and the Atlanta Falcons will play for the NFC championship.
However, it's looking like Microsoft will bypass Super Bowl XLVII, which is traditionally the biggest TV event of the year in terms of ratings; Samsung is confirmed to be running an ad for Super Bowl XLVII, as is Best Buy.
