A brand new entry to Ubisoft's city-building and management series, Anno, has been unveiled at gamescom, with the publisher quietly pushing out a brand new trailer announcing Anno 1800. As expected by the game's name and the trailer above, it is set in the industrial age, departing the futuristic setting of the previous title in the series, Anno 2205.
Ubisoft studio Blue Byte is heading the development once again, and it has created a new website, Anno-Union, where fans of the series are invited to "to share their feedback, vote on features, create content and test the game during its development."
The website is currently running a community vote where players can decide which NPC character from a pool of six will be included in the game at launch. Active members on the website will even get access to early builds of the game to test out before release.
Anno 1800 is currently being showcased at the gamescom show floor in its pre-alpha stage, but fans will have to wait quite some time to get their hands on the game, as the official release window is set for Winter 2018.
