The Anno series, Ubisoft's supply chain management and city-building line-up of games, has spawned seven entries since its inception back in 1998, and now, the developer is planning a re-release of the classics optimized for modern systems, similar to the venture taken with the Settlers series.
Announced today as Anno History Collection, the bundle will feature Anno 1602: Creation of a New World (1998), Anno 1503: The New World (2003), Anno 1701 (2006), and Anno 1404 (2009). Note that Anno 1404 was released as Dawn of Discovery in North America. All of the games' expansions, DLC, digital soundtracks, wallpapers, and more bonuses will be included as well.
As for improvements, the History Collection's games will support Windows 10 and 64-bit architecture now for better performance and stability, up to 4K resolution, online multiplayer through Uplay, as well as updated UI and controls. Moreover, save files from the original games will be compatible with the new History releases.
The Anno History Collection is releasing a month from now on June 25. Pre-ordering of the four-game compilation is currently available for $39.99, and will be delivered through Uplay. The games will be available for purchase separately, too.
