The Splinter Cell publisher's Quebecois branch is planning to hire 200 more workers.
Today, it seems, one of EA's paramount rivals is adopting the same tactic. Reuters reports Ubisoft's primary development studio, located in Montreal, Quebec, has announced plans to increase its staff by some 200 people. Currently home to some 700 employees, the studio is currently hiring in a variety of departments, but it announced the majority of future positions will be in programming, design, and art.
The news comes on the heels the publisher flurry of war-game announcements last week, which included the WWII shooter Brothers in Arms and the console version of America's Army. Ubisoft spokesperson Martin Carrier, however, indicated the game announcements and hiring news were not connected.
