Rainbow Six Siege is on its way to receiving its third major content update (dubbed Operations) of the year, and after much speculation by fans, we finally get a first look at what operators and features will it bring along. Titled Operation Grim Sky, the free update will introduce two new operators and the game's very first map rework as its major highlights.
Unlike the previous two seasons, the operators are split between attack and defense roles. The attacking operator comes in from America, and judging by the blowtorch-looking device he is holding in the teaser image above, it seems like he will be a new hard breacher. On the flip side, the defending operator hails from Great Britain, bringing in what looks to be a new shield-like device.
Meanwhile, the map that is getting a complete rework in the update is Hereford Base, with Ubisoft saying it is "renovating the place and making many adjustments to raise the bar for competitive play."
The developer also highlighted some gameplay enhancements that will arrive alongside the update, such as fixes for the game's weapon sights misalignment issues, a new idle operator pick mechanic, as well as dynamic resolution scaling for consoles.
Rainbow Six Siege Operation Grim Sky doesn't have a release date just yet, but a full reveal of all the aforementioned features and more will take place during the Paris Six Major. The tournament runs from August 17 through 19, broadcasted via the game's official Twitch channel.
