Users militate to make Xbox2 backwards compatible

GROUNDSWELL of revolt -- OK, the beginnings of a groundswell of revolt against Microsoft making its next console adventure non compatible with the Xbox has started on the world wide web. Twenty months ago, the INQ's own Eva Glass, said that Microsoft was seeking to dump X86 firms and Nvidia as it took a fresh look at this market.

Last week IBM announced to a hail of publicity that it would be making the next chip for the Xbox 2 with facilities at its East Fishkill superfab. But now Xbox users are up in arms and have organised an online petition against the move -- which you can read at this page. The petition prays and beseeches that Microsoft will start listening to them.
