At Apple's WWDC 2017 keynote today, ustwo Games took the stage and announced Monument Valley 2, which is the sequel to Apple's 2014 Game of the Year. It takes place in the same universe as Monument Valley, as you can probably tell from the screenshots above, the game "tells the story of a mother and child as they embark on a journey of discovery through a stunning and impossible world."
Here's the full description:
Guide a mother and her child as they embark on a journey through magical architecture, discovering illusionary pathways and delightful puzzles as you learn the secrets of the Sacred Geometry.
Sequel to the Apple Game of the Year 2014, Monument Valley 2 presents a brand new adventure set in a beautiful and impossible world.
Help Ro as she teaches her child about the mysteries of the valley, exploring stunning environments and manipulating architecture to guide them on their way.
ustwo is promising a standalone adventure, and that if you've never played Monument Valley, you won't have any trouble getting into Monument Valley 2.
The game will be launching as an iOS exclusive, although there's no word on if it will be coming to Android or Windows later on. You'll need a device that's running at least iOS 9, and it costs $4.99; however, there aren't any in-app purchases to worry about.
You can purchase Monument Valley 2 here. If you still haven't played the original Monument Valley, you can purchase it for $3.99 here.
