Vivo has been teasing its in-display fingerprint reader for quite some time. While many other companies have been rumored to be working on similar technology, it looks like Vivo will indeed be one of the first on the market with a consumer product, if the rumored June 12 reveal date for its NEX handsets is accurate. Although we will have to wait until next week to be sure, a new leak allegedly comes from the firm's official website and shows off two of its NEX handsets in full.
The NEX S features Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB RAM, and 128GB internal storage. As you can see from the image above, the smartphone will also have a 6.59-inch near bezel-less display that will have an embedded fingerprint reader. The device will have a 12MP and 5MP rear camera and 8MP front-facing camera. As for the battery, it will be packing a 4,000mAh unit.
The NEX variant will offer slightly lower specifications, packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, 6GB RAM, and will not have an in-display fingerprint reader. The reader will instead be located on the rear of the handset. As mentioned prior, Vivo should be announcing these smartphones next week.
