After the acquisition of Vizio by Chinese firm LeEco was called off, the former did not throw in the towel, as it prepared to unveil its newest products. And today, that's exactly what it did.
Although it has unveiled several models of soundbars, going as low as $79 for a 28'' stereo variant, Vizio is focusing mostly on the 36'' 5.1 surround sound version of its SmartCast lineup - as seen in the picture.
At $249.99, the wireless model also offers Bluetooth connectivity, and because it has Google's Chromecast built-in and is able to interact with devices hosting Google Assistant, you can control what it plays via Chromecast-enabled apps or simply by voice commands, respectively.
Another product announced by Vizio is part of the Crave lineup of wireless speakers. The latest product, dubbed the Crave Go, is a portable speaker which can be either used as a home-wide audio network, or can simply be picked up and used as an on-the-go solution.
With it also being Chromecast-enabled, you will be able to stream music to it from services like Pandora, Spotify, or Google's very own Play Music.
It is available to order, but be warned as the Wi-Fi enabled speaker will set you back $199 at the firm's website.
Vizio also put together a presentation of its 2017 soundbar offering, a video in which it described itself as "American's number one soundbar company". Here's what it looks like:
It'll certainly be interesting to see how this all eventually works out for Vizio, as the reshuffling of the deck towards more entertainment-focused solutions does make a fair bit of sense.
